I would also like to thank our attorney, from one of the best law firms in the country, who guided us through the process and set us up for success.
We need your support in many other ways – volunteer time and effort, leadership skills, support, empowerment and encouragement for our parents. We encourage you to get involved. We still have volunteer and board opportunities available. If you would like to get involved, contact Michelle Francis at email@example.com.
Guiding Parents, a non-profit organization based in New York City, will provide support to men and women facing the challenge of new parenting. Starting January 2015.
501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Status Approved!
November 17, 2014
We are pleased to announce on November 5, 2014 the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) approved Guiding Parents, Inc. as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization effective the date we were formed, January 9, 2014. This was a pleasant surprise as the tax exemption process usually takes up to one year, but only spanned three weeks for us.
Tax exempt status will allow us to recruit more board directors and volunteers and apply for grants from public and private institutions.
Additionally, now that Guiding Parents is a tax exempt organization, donations are tax deductible. Thanks to everyone who generously donated to the Guiding Parents Tax Exempt fundraising campaign in 2014. FYI…If you donated between January 2014 and November 2014, your donation is tax deductible. Your donations have and will continue to support the growth of our organization and programs, which will positively impact the lives of many parents in the city.
